Stab bound books is the passion of Caroline Aldersey.
"I started making handbound books as a hobby after some local tuition. I soon
found I had a flair for Japanese Stab Binding and I have concentrated on this type of binding over the past two years"
"I now have a range of handcrafted A5 hardback notebooks many of which combine English Hand Marbled Paper with the Japanese Stab Binding method."
"Each handbound notebook contains 30 sheets of plain white paper (120gm), a coloured book cloth and matching thread.
They measure 19cm x 14cm in landscape format. Different sizes can be produced if required."
The beauty of the Stab Binding method is that the rear of the notebook is a mirror image of the front.

The marbled papers used in the creation of many of my notebooks, were produced by the World Famous Cockerell Marbled Paper company based in Grantchester, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom.
Below is a link to a short film describing the process.
